Frequently Asked Questions
Wax melts are small, highly scented pieces of wax (no wick, no flame) that you melt using an electric or tealight warmer to fill your home or office with fragrance. Unlike a candle, there's no open flame involved on the wax itself — you simply pop a melt into the dish of your warmer, let it melt, and enjoy the scent as it fills the room.
Nope — any standard wax melt burner or oil burner will work, as long as it reaches between 62–67°C to properly melt the wax. Some warmers run hotter than others, so if you already have one and aren't sure, just pop a thermometer in the melted wax to check.
In colder weather, the ambient air temperature can make it harder for the wax around the edges of the bowl to fully melt, since that part of the dish stays cooler.
On average, our wax melts give you around 10 hours of scent per use — though many customers tell us theirs last much longer than that. Actual time can vary depending on a few things: how hot your warmer runs, the size of your room, and airflow. If you've got windows open or you're using it in a larger, more open space, the scent won't be as strong and may not last as long.
There are a few ways to remove old wax before adding a fresh scent. One easy method: turn your warmer on for a few minutes to gently heat the leftover wax, then slide it out while it's soft and wipe away any residue with a piece of kitchen roll.
